Debt Forgiveness

September 30, 2017

How excited would you get if I told you that someone will forgive all of your debt INCLUDING student loans no matter how much or how long you have had it? Well, I have great news!!!

God wants to do something more amazing than that with something more permanent than that. He sent his son to die to forgive all of your "LIFE DEBT".

See, before you were born you started accruing debt, life debt, that is. It wasn't because of anything that you did, YET, but rather because you would eventually be born into a fallen world. When the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, disobeyed God's instruction to not eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, sin entered the world. And because sin entered the world, everyone born into the world was born into sin. Sin is anything that separates us from God, who is Holy. Let's look at sin as debt.

Like any debt, sin has to be paid for. So for many years, God allowed people to pay for their debt with the blood of lambs each year. They had to sacrifice the best lamb that they had, a spotless lamb. God, knowing that these lambs would never pay off the debt in full he promised that one day he would send the perfect sacrifice, the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, to pay for the entire world's debt, once and for all. So hundreds of years later, God fulfilled his promise. Jesus Christ was born, died and rose again to PERMANENTLY FORGIVE YOUR LIFE DEBT.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ."

Jesus paid the ultimate price, the only price high enough to forgive the world's debt, including yours. So you're probably wondering what's the catch. Why would someone just pay the price for all of my debt? I'm glad you asked. Have you ever done something nice for a loved one? Of course you have. Did you do it so that you could receive something back for it or did you do it because you love them? Of course, because you love them!!! Well, God IS love. Like, he's the originator and very essence of what love is. And not only is he love but he loved us so much, (even before we were born), that he decided to send Jesus to pay the price for our debt simply because of his immeasurable love.

John 3:16-17 says, "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him."

And what exactly did he SAVE the world from? Well, you know when you owe money on a car or house, you have to pay for it. You WILL pay for it one way or another. Well, the price of our debt called sin is death. So either Jesus dies and pays for YOUR DEBT or you can foot the bill. He's already died so that anyone who wants him to pay the price for them only has to simply ask. Anyone who doesn't ask is merely turning down this free gift from God. Unfortunately, those who chose to pay on their own will experience total separation from God. See, the thing is, your money, your good deeds, even those good looks of yours will never be enough to pay the price, so you'll always have the sin hanging around. Remember, God is Holy, so he can't hang around with that stuff. That's why he urges everyone to accept the free DEBT FORGIVENESS through JESUS.

Well, here's the not so fine print.

GOD DOESN'T FORCE ANYONE TO ACCEPT DEBT FORGIVENESS.HE ONLY ALLOWS PEOPLE TO MAKE THE DECISION TOACCEPT DEBT FORGIVENESS.

So, the choice is yours. Do you have debt that needs forgiveness? Remember, you started accruing it before you were born so even if you haven't done anything to accrue it personally (which we all have anyway, sorry to break it to you), you still have that inherited debt. Do you want debt forgiveness? Great!!! Here's how:

1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner (someone who has debt).

2. Acknowledge that you need a Savior (someone to pay for your debt).

3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins (he paid for your debt).

4. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior (accept his payment and your debt forgiveness).

That's it!!! You just made the BEST DECISION you could ever make and all you had to do was believe and confess.

Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so happy for you!!!

Ok, so you're debt-free. NOW WHAT?

I encourage you to start reading the book of John in the Bible. It's the 4th book in the New Testament, not to be confused with the other 3 John's (1 John, 2 John and 3 John) towards the end of the New Testament.

I also encourage you to find someone who can walk alongside you as you learn more and more about this debt-free life. Find a mentor that you trust who is also debt-free and you can be transparent with. This debt-free life is wonderful but it's not smooth sailing. You'll want someone who can weather the storms with you.

I encourage you to find a church home, a group of believers who live and teach from the Bible alone with a leader who can serve as a covering to you and people who you can serve, be accountable to and enjoy life with. Now remember, there are NO PERFECT CHURCHES because they're all made up of imperfect people. See, the sin thing is still there (until Jesus returns). We just don't have to pay for it now.

Last but not least, I encourage you to surround yourself with other people who are pursuing an intimate relationship with Christ. These people can have similar interest as you or varied. As a new believer, I encourage you to spend time in environments that help you grow. As you grow and mature, God will give you the ability to go into darker places to help others see his light. At times if we ourselves never leave, it's harder for God to do the work in us that will allow us to help so many others. So, no you're not in an elite group that seeks to distance itself from anything that's not like it. But rather for a season, for your protection, it may be wise to separate yourself.

Well, that's all for now. If you'd like to receive more Blog Post like this that will encourage you, support you, challenge you and even make you laugh, subscribe on my website, KyraLanae.com.
